Roots & Play On BBC: How we are Closing the Gap in Diverse Educational Resources

I had the pleasure of going live on BBC Radio Leicester radio last Friday with the lovely Letitia George for her Black Culture show.

We spoke all things Roots & Play and highlighted the importance of positive representation for children from Black and minority ethnic backgrounds. Our Education system lacks diverse resources but research shows that by having a range of cultural products that represent children in a positive light, the impact on achievement and personal self development is profound.

Our products aim to foster inclusive, positive play experiences where children from non-marginalised backgrounds can also engage meaningfully with diverse cultures. At the heart of everything we create is the celebration and representation of minority cultures, helping to build understanding, empathy and respect from an early age.
